- Improper installation of the shifter
- Bent shift fork or damaged pivot ball
- Worn transmission synchronizer rings
- Worn engine/transmission mounts
- Pilot bearing/bushing binding on the transmission input shaft
- Damaged or defective pressure plate drive straps
- Poor clutch release caused by faulty linkage and/or improper release linkage adjustment
- Improper lubrication of the input shaft during install
- Clutch disc spring carriage hitting flywheel or flywheel bolts
- Bell housing misalignment
